The Volkswagen Polo undergoes the redesign of mid-career at the end of 2013. For this occasion, the range of utility should be extended to the minivan Raum Polo and Polo Variant station wagon that is characterized by a longer wheelbase of 10 cm. Are currently being studied but also the different variations as may be the coupe , the MPV, the convertible and crossover or SUV . Nothing has yet taken for granted at this stage of analysis of various options.
The coupe is expected to come from Tex Volkswagen concept car , which was exhibited last March during the Geneva Motor Show 2011 , which was designed by Giugiaro . It seems very likely that the new car is produced along with the next generation of the Volkswagen Polo platform that will use the new MQB of Golf 7 . The variant version of the MPV van and commercial vehicle could be assembled instead to challenge the automotive market Fiat Fiorino , Qubo , Citroen Nemo and Peugeot Bipper . The Polo Van would thus be placed under the Caddy .
The variant or crossover SUV, however, should be developed with Suzuki , which wants to use the platform of the Volkswagen Polo for the new generation of the SX4 . As for the Polo Cabriolet , the car would be ready, to take the soft top and would be produced in the former Karmann plant in Osnabruck, but the Volkswagen Group has yet to decide whether to bet on this car or on ' Audi A1 Cabriolet . The Volkswagen Polo also may be offered in high-performance R version with the 2.0 TSI engine from 250 hp.
