Daimler and Bosch together for electric motors


Daimler and Bosch they plan to unite their efforts for the development, production and marketing of electric motors for car batteries. To better achieve these objectives, the two companies have signed a letter of intent to form a joint venture to 50% by mid-2011. The production of engines for electric cars designed by the alliance should begin in 2012 at the premises of Hildesheim and Stuttgart. The purpose of Daimler and Bosch is to speed up in this area.


Under this agreement the two partners will work together to produce electric motors to be installed on future electric cars and Mercedes Smart, From 2012. Subsequently, the Bosch will sell the engines to other car manufacturers, should they show interest in technology developed by the consortium.

The alliance with Bosch strengthens the twenty years of experience in the field of Daimler electric vehicles. In this context, the company has put together important knowledge in the batteries and the constituent parts of electric motors. The know-how acquired over the years it is therefore essential to know what are the steps involved in achieving the best results.
