in 2011 Google Street View, stop in Germany

Google Street View stops. This is what happened in Germany, where after having monitored and videotaped at least twenty German cities with the various Google car take charge of all the different routes, the Mountain View giant has decided to stop the program Street View. The images were taken from the cars are used to extend the service Google Maps and make it more reliable. The decision to abandon the program began in Germany at the time did not have any explanation by the popular search engine.

The company said only that the priorities are to use the Google car to get data such as street names and road signs to improve the base maps available to users, similar to what other companies are working on the map roads. At first it was thought that a move could have been caused by claims for invasion of privacy advanced by some citizens and some mayors. In the past Google had many problems in this respect.

Instead a few weeks ago, the search engine has won a lawsuit with the Court which ruled that shooting road made by machines are legal. The material so far collected by the Google car in Germany will still be used without updates in the future. And if Google decided to abandon Microsoft instead pass on German roads for his Streetside, The service navigation Bing Maps. The Germans then still see the cars on their roads with strange equipment mounted on it.
