New Lancia Ypsilon 2011, the future at risk

The future of the new Lancia Ypsilon 2011 seems very risky. A support rumors that claim that the integration between Lancia and Chrysler would be starting on the wrong foot, especially at the global level. The two brands were offset each other to create a unique range of models around the world. The Geneva Motor Show in 2011 had to think positively, with the presentation of the various cars of origin with the Chrysler badge Lancia, as the new Thema sedan and the large MPV Voyager .

The festival was also presented the new generation of Lancia Ypsilon , destined to be sold in Britain with the logo of the American automobile. But according to what some foreign websites specialize Lancia Ypsilon may not be heirs if the current and the next generation will not even marketed in the U.S. market. The confirmation of the news came from the manager Olivier Francois. The head of Lancia and Chrysler said that the Ypsilon not come overseas, because it would be to occupy the same segment of the Fiat 500 and this is not possible in the U.S. market which is obviously different from that of Europe.

The debut of the Chrysler Ypsilon in the United States was scheduled for 2013 , time needed to adjust the car to safety and pollution standards that are very severe. It should also be pending the development of the heir of the Lancia Delta , expected to be available for next year. At this point it may happen that the Lingotto car again abandon the segment C. Among other things, the car has also been called a flop. The only compact car instead confirmed that the sedan will replace the Dodge Caliber , but there is no provision for the European market.
