Alfa Romeo in U.S. in 2012, Marchionne confirmed

The arrival of Alfa Romeo in the U.S. car market has not been postponed for a year starting in 2012. The confirmation comes directly by CEO Sergio Marchionne , who wanted to clarify the rumors leaked during the day. According to these would have to wait until 2013 because there was the launch and apart from the 8C , there was no plans to sell Alfa Romeo cars of the United States. The date would slitatta and root causes were attributed to the delay that the automaker would Arese in the production of Giulia .

He also said that the CEO was not satisfied with the proposed design which had been submitted. The manager was not particularly enthusiastic about the studies done in the United States for the sisters of Julia, who should be the replacements of the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger . The two cars will share U.S. platform, engines and other components, so this indecision on the proposals would affect the position regarding the production of the model. The list of car Alfa Romeo fell and only the arrival of the new SUV , expected late next year, will raise the situation .

The latter will be built at Mirafiori and will be assembled on the platform of the replacement for the Jeep Compass and Patriot . In the meantime, analysts expect that the arrival of Alfa in the U.S. will produce the initial losses, losses that are going to complement those recently caused by the lack of new models and comparison with other brands in the European market. After the success of Juliet will have to think about the Alfa Romeo Giulia to restore to America , where it is absent from the 1995 and where he tries to return since 2000.
